Our exfoliating toner contains salicylic acid and is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Although large-scale public health studies are not available regarding the topical use of salicylic acid during pregnancy, it is advisable for pregnant women to abstain from using skincare products containing more than 2% salicylic acid, out of an abundance of caution. We note that several preliminary studies indicated that women who took low-dose acetylsalicylic acid orally during pregnancy had no increase in negative health indicators.
